Journeyman Painter
Introduction:
Bruner Painting is a locally owned and operated painting contractor that has been in business for over 30 years. We service residential customers, commercial and general contractors, and industrial customers with work in interior and exterior finishes. We are looking for multiple experienced painters to join our team capable of meeting the responsibilities and requirements listed below.
Job Summary:
The painter will use various paint or stain products using different application techniques and equipment to professionally finish interior and exterior surfaces.
Responsibilities include:

Carrying out the job from start to finish, achieving job site quality, cleanliness, and customer satisfaction, alone or within a team

Responsible for working effectively with little waste of product and materials

Responsible for painting interior and exterior surfaces with paint, varnishes, lacquers, sealers, or stains using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.

Preparation work of the surfaces: applying filler/spackle/caulk, using power and hand tools to sand surfaces for further finishing, masking/taping off areas,

Have knowledge of how to operate lifts, ladders, and scaffolds.

Coordinate and communicate with homeowner/contractor providing job site schedules and progress. Report to Foreman and Project Manager.

Tracking of the hours, materials used, and progress on each project. Fill out a timecard to correspond. Identify additional work outside of bid/scope and account for labor and materials.

Responsible for job site safety and work performance

Requirements:

3+ years experience
-
Dependable and reliable transportation

Must have strong work ethic and take pride in all work

Positive, friendly, and upbeat personality

Committed to teamwork

Ability to work independently within a fast-paced environment with attention to detail

Must be 18 years or older

Must have a clean driving record and valid driver's license to operate a company vehicle

Ability to lift 50lb

Punctual-never late and ready to work with clean painter's attire

Proficiency in other trades, such as drywall, masonry, and carpentry experience is a plus

Posses own tools/brushes is a plus, or being willing to obtain own tools
The pay rate will be based on quality of work and experience. The following will be considered regarding the rate of pay: Your ability to follow through with and complete a project without mistakes, and your ability to demonstrate skill, professionalism, customer service, and reliability.
To qualify as a journeyman painter, you must have 6+ years of experience and be capable of running a crew and job from start to finish with minimal supervision.
